Earnest Money & Closing Funds

Common options for delivering earnest money and closing funds.

Earnest Money

  • If you plan to deliver earnest money by check, please review the contract to confirm whether a personal check or cashier’s check is permitted.

Your real estate agent can help verify the acceptable form of earnest money outlined in the contract.

Once confirmed, checks may be delivered to any Exact Title location.

  • Some contracts require earnest money to be delivered as good funds via wire transfer.

Before sending a wire, please contact Exact Title directly to receive wiring instructions through a secure method.

Exact Title does not send wiring instructions through unsecured email. If you receive wiring information from any other source, contact our office to verify before sending funds.

  • Earnest money may be delivered digitally through the Earnnest platform when this option is selected for the transaction.

Earnnest is commonly coordinated by the real estate agent, but buyers and agents should first confirm that digital earnest money delivery is permitted under the terms of the contract.

Closing Funds

  • Closing funds may be delivered by cashier’s check when permitted by the contract and lender requirements.

Before bringing a cashier’s check, please confirm the final amount due with your Exact Title closer.

Once confirmed, cashier’s checks may be delivered to any Exact Title location prior to closing.

If you have questions about timing or delivery, contact your closer for guidance before submitting funds.

  • Closing funds may also be delivered by wire transfer when required by the contract or lender.

Prior to sending a wire, please contact Exact Title directly to receive wiring instructions through a secure method and confirm the final amount due.

Exact Title does not send wiring instructions through unsecured email. If you receive wiring information from any other source, contact our office to verify before sending funds.
